DTLA 2020
DTLA 2020 began as a simple plan to document the neighborhood I had just moved into—DTLA, a place that had inspired me long before I lived there. But 2020 reshaped everything. The city became an arena for mourning, protesting, rioting, celebrating, and clashing, and I found myself there to capture it all.
From the heartbreaking loss of an L.A. legend, to the eerie stillness of lockdown, to protests, unrest, and the explosive celebrations of the Lakers and Dodgers championships—DTLA shifted daily. And in the middle of the chaos, my daughter was born.
DTLA 2020 is a portrait of a city in upheaval and a personal record of living through it. The project will be released as a short film and photo book in late 2026.
